Dewdrop Foundation (DDF) is a not-for-profit organisation established in 2002 and registered with relevant government authorities in Nigeria. For more than two decades, the Foundation has worked to improve the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged people through programmes that promote empowerment, protection, inclusion, self-reliance and sustainable community development.

About Dewdrop Foundation
Development that moves beyond short-term assistance.
Dewdrop Foundation is registered with relevant government authorities in Nigeria.
Our work began largely around caregivers and the informal care sector. However, years of engagement with communities showed that many of the challenges faced by vulnerable populations are interconnected.
This experience led Dewdrop Foundation to broaden its interventions to address the social, economic and community conditions that contribute to vulnerability, inequality, labour abuses and other human rights challenges.
Today, we work primarily with women, young people, children, elderly persons, domestic workers, caregivers and other vulnerable populations.
Dewdrop Foundation believes that sustainable development must extend beyond short-term assistance. For communities to thrive, people must have access to knowledge, opportunities, inclusive institutions and systems that enable them to participate in determining their own future.
We work with communities, rights holders, government institutions, development partners, private organisations and other stakeholders to develop practical responses to local challenges.

Our Journey
From Caregiving to Integrated Community Development
Dewdrop Foundation began as an organisation whose work was largely focused on caregivers and vulnerable people within the informal care economy.
Years of field experience revealed that many of the challenges affecting these groups could not be addressed independently.
Issues affecting caregivers, women, elderly persons, young people and vulnerable households were often connected to broader challenges involving poverty, education, healthcare, livelihoods, governance, environmental conditions and community security.
This understanding led the Foundation to develop a broader community development approach while retaining the protection and empowerment of vulnerable people as a central part of its identity.

Women & Youth Empowerment
Unlocking potential through skills and opportunity
Dewdrop Foundation recognises women and young people as important drivers of social and economic development. We work to unlock their potential by providing opportunities for skills development, mentoring, capacity building, entrepreneurship and livelihood development. Through our programmes, participants are supported to increase their confidence, economic independence and capacity to contribute meaningfully to their families and communities.

Care of the Elderly & Vulnerable Persons
Promoting dignity, inclusion and protection
Dewdrop Foundation advocates for the rights, dignity and wellbeing of elderly and vulnerable people. Our work includes sensitisation and public awareness campaigns aimed at preventing elder abuse, violence, neglect and exploitation. We also engage communities and stakeholders in conversations around stronger systems for protecting and supporting older persons.

Dewdrop Foundation recognises that sustainable community development requires multiple interconnected issues to be addressed together. Our community development interventions therefore apply the GHEEES Model.
Care of the Elderly & Vulnerable Persons
Seenagers Associations
One of the Foundation's important initiatives is the establishment of Seenagers Associations. Seenagers provide a safe and inclusive platform where elderly people can interact, share experiences, participate in community life, access relevant information and support, and have a stronger collective voice.
Through sensitisation, public awareness and safe community spaces, Dewdrop Foundation promotes dignity, protection, inclusion and a stronger voice for older persons.
